Today is my last day at Swedavia i.e. the company I’ve been working at for the last two years. I basically sold my sole to this company this summer by signing a 100% work schedule. Was it worth the effort? Money yes, Social-life P.O.V. BIG NO NO!
Working at an Airport is stimulating in the way of meeting loads of different types of stupidity. I’ve registered peoples behaviour and came to the conclusion that; Aviation make people a bit strange, they tend to forget how to think. The very moment they step into the departure hall I see a child thinking: where are my parents…oh I’ve just got blind!?
Exception to all business travellers, somehow they tend to know where the check in-area is located, where the security check is and surprisingly they know where the gates are!! ALL BY DEFAULT!!??
In the area of Assistance (my area of work) some people are just spoiled and lazy, telling me the excuse: “This is the first time I ask for a wheelchair… because my feet ache and it’s to far to walk”. The real heroes are the real disabled people, the ones that wish no more than to get their legs working again and to burn that Otto Bock chair!
What have I’ve learned from this field of work?
Coffee kills sick early mornings!
Anyway many of my co-worker are heroes! From the ladies at the information-desks, the guys on the floor to the cute gals from the recruitment-companies in the halls pointing the right way. They work with this fulltime, that’s impressive stuff and I’ve also met new lovely friends.
Was that all?
I think so, no wait!
Experience is everything wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Want to work at a cool place? Arlanda Airport is the place to apply!
